In and out of the Garden he goes
This past Saturday Kim and I went to see the Dead at Madison Square Garden. It's a band I'm pretty into. To the disappointment of many (I'm sure), I've made the executive decision to not post a million pictures of people in tie-dye. However, it just wouldn't be right if I didn't post a few moments from the glorious evening
Here are dancing bears drinking.
Here was my crush of the night who took the seats of some people who's seat I was "guarding" while they went to buy t-shirts. Then I realized he was taking down the setlist, and fell in love and couldn't ask him to move. Then i got scolded by the couple who's seats I did not save.
Here is when they tie-dyed the crowd.
And HERE is where you can see the setlist and listen/download the show.

A True Accomplishment
So Benna's in Rwanda for a year doing amazing things like running a school and hanging out with lions and elephants and stuff. You would think the emails I receive from her would have something to do w/ that. No, not so much. Instead I get emails from her with the subject: I got my split back!!!!!!So Benz, forget all the people you're helping and all the amazing things your doing. Instead, congrats on getting your split back!!

Visual Pregame for One More Saturday Night
Last night Kim and I decided to ride around the city for some visual pregaming of the Dead show tonight.
She finally got to show me the store she thinks I should buy my wedding dress at (since I'll probably meet my husband at the show tonight). I did some research and its actually a seriously classy and expensive establishment.
Then we kept running into likely suspects to which I'd knowingly mutter "see you at the show tomorrow." This was my favorite spotting of the evening:
BTW, those are not tickets on the windshield but cool postcards placed there by st. stephen himself (or at least him in the form of other folk who are probably going tonight too). Now I will go play outside in the sunshine, daydream* that is today.
*I'm already cracking myself up and apologize in advance to all of you who will be subjected to my shameless heady high this weekend.

The Price is Right again.
In 2004, Alli and I went to a taping of The Price is Right. It was so traumatic we vowed to never see a taping of a television program again. Then years later she got offered a ticket to see a taping of chelsea lately; my absolute most favorite late night talk show. we decided to lift our tv ban and she even got an onscreen cameo. im so proud.

"Help! Help me Oprah!"
This evening, we were discussing the time Kim was on Oprah because she won an essay contest in 5th grade. As some of you might know, it is one of Lex's life dreams to be on Oprah. Tonight we decided to see if Alexis (at the age of 25.5, having graduated college (and kindergarten) TWICE) would be able to compete in that 5th grade contest with a little reading test.
For now we will just hope that Oprah will have a show about kids who can't read so good.

Remember Rocket pops?
I have no idea if thats really what theyre called. they should be called magical red white and blue america pops. anyways, as if the PERFECT central park picnic lindsay prepared wasn't enough, magical red white and blue america pops totally made my day. they also reminded me what brain freeze feels like.

Overheard in 52w14 # 17
Alexis: Like, Leroy spends all his days and nights as LEROY. Like he's a dog. He's not a person....Isn't that funny?
Overheard in 52w14 #16
ok first here's the back story. our friend lindsay has lived in nyc for 4 years now. shes JUST starting to learn how to use the subways (we're so proud of her) and she also very rarely ventures off the island.
me: wanna hear something nutty?
lindsay: sure
me: my parents favorite sushi place in vail is closing and moving to williamsburg.
lindsay: colonial williambsurg?!?!!?
we'll cut her some slack because it was her birthday. this is the card she got. lucky girl.

Thanks from the Fatherland
Perhaps 52w14's biggest fan is none other than a certain Elisabeth Kipp. She also happens to be the fan who won our blog 1st bday party costume contest. As promised, we sent her a little gift to celebrate her win. Upon recieving her prize, she was kind enough to create a super long-winded (as any true l**ff*r story is--in large part because she spends half of it giggling about whatever embarrassing thing she is about to reveal about herself) post about it. So, if you have an extra hour or so, click on the exquistely dressed canines below to see her latest excitedly gushing masterpiece.
