Celebrity toy in da house
remember the other day when jenn and her sister went on that bike ride and found that giraffe toy they brought back for leroy? (see post below) well, since then leroy hasn't taken the giraffe out of his mouth. i even said, "he loves it so much, but i bet theres some sad puppy out there who lost their giraffe toy."
it turns out it wasnt a sad puppy, it was a sad baby.

Seasonal Sunday
My little sister Alessandra came to visit this weekend. As we've gotten a few hints of spring the past couple weeks, we decided it was time to break out the bikes for a tour of the big apple. We knew things were off to a good start when just a few minutes into the ride we found a new friend for Leroy.
Apparently the giraffe really threw off Alessandra's balance on the bike, cause as we approached the river she took a bit of a spill. Or you know, a FALL (full seasonal pun intended).
Since Aless was a little sad about her cut up knee (and the embarrassment of forgetting how to ride a bike) I took a moment to say hello to the Frying Pan, and let him know I'd be back for some serious summer lovin' soon.
After riding around Central Park a bit we decided to say goodbye to winter with some ice skating. Unfortunately, our great plans to take photos of us performing incredible stunts on the ice were ruined by the referee who kept yelling at us for having too much fun.
After a long day of summer and winter fun, we decided to head home. As if the dude by Central Park who was able to identify "Hey that's the building from CLOVERFIELD!!" wasn't proof enough, we saw a posse by the river who confirmed that the Big Apple never fails to be awesome.

She's like a ring leader--she calls the shots
My britney crew (b, lindsay, and kalen) and i headed to new jersey.
I don't care what the haters say, britneys back bitchesssss. she is the hottest sexiest most badass pop star in all the land. she put on a killer show. we all LOVED every second of it. im not gonna say much more because i bet some of our readers are going to be seeing her later in her tour (if they're lucky) and i don't wanna ruin any surprises.

When we left the show we all spotted these two dudes selling tie dye britney shirts. all the sudden it turned into Operation:get jenn tie dye. we all pooled money, haggled, and eventually succeeded. it all happened so fast that we couldn't even communicate with each other and we ended up with two tie dyed britney shirts. thank god.

What does a normal new yorker do after they finish a 12 day detox cleanse? they eat at one of the 8 billion nyc restaurants this wonderful city has to offer...me, not so much. jayne and i hopped in the car and headed straight to Killadelphia so we could eat at jimmy johns and properly satisfy our bread cravings.
with belly's full of tuna club's and turkey tom's we decided it was a really good idea to drive a million hours outta the way to surprise jayne's mom at her awesome new jersey elementary school (her mom is a teacher, not a student) However, we did have one student with us. his name is leroy. he had the best first day of school. he got to start in the 3rd grade becuase hes really smart.
i couldn't have ended the cleanse any better except for the fact that i didn't bring back nearly enough subs. i believe there will be many more road trips to jimmy johns in the future.

Tri Tri Tri
Some dear friends of ours have been sporting a lot of spandex and one pieces lately. They also happen to be participating in the Lavaman Triathlon in a few weeks. They're all members of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. As part of the process, they're working to raise funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

Raiders of the Lost Tunnel
On a warm March morning, three budding archaeologists decided to hit the streets of the big apple to explore unknown terrain--the world's oldest subway tunnel.
After poking around a few manholes, they finally found the one--smack in the middle of Atlantic Avenue. Being the fearless explorers they are, they dove into the deep dark unknown with no hesitation...
They braved dark, treacherous terrain.
Examined ancient artifacts.
Started an impromtu underground rave. (Thankfully, they'd come prepared with plenty of glowsticks)
And posed for pictures.
