"I didn't check the blog today cuz i got FIRED"-Mags

Our dear friend Alex Mags got fired today. He is shortly going to be broke. Because of this we devised a list of things he would do for money.

For $1:
-make out with lex (w/ tongue)
-read "Confessions of an Heiress" by Paris Hilton cover to cover (that's what hes doing right now as i post this....)
-write jenn's cover letter(she got fired/retired too)
-get a part time job at anthropologie

For $5-$100:
-lick the 14th street sidewalk (w/ tongue)
-make out with leroy (w/ tongue)
-kiss sam (w/ no tongue)
-drink the rest of his beer through his nose
-HARDCORE clean the 52w14 living room
-wrap leroy's dirty pee pad around your waist like a towell
-go to new jersey
-go a week with out having sex

He would like to ad that if anyone has anything they want him to do for either $1 or 5$-$100 to please let him know. you can reach him at fired@mags.com

I'd like to end this post with a quote:
"This is gonna work out great for me. I'm gonna get really skinny and become a male model."-Alex Mags

Ring Ring (haha yes that's the awesome title i chose...)

Tonight Caity from New Jersey and I got to chattin about shit we used to dig. Turns out everything we used to like is still totally awesome. We found these sweet photos of telephones from our childhoods.

What it looks like when Jessica does stuff.

This is what I look like when I sleep in my bed.

This is what I look like in the coolest shirt you could ever buy in Cancun.

This is what I look like when I pick out an outfit every morning.

This is what I look like when I breast feed my doll.

Driving Miss Daisy

Last night was filled with lots of fun. Too much fun to describe. To close the night we ended up at a random bar WAY uptown. When we got there, there were a few signs (full pun intended) that seemed to indicate this place was super lame.

In my mind, the above sign basically means NO fun. But we soon realized this place was actually filled with fun. It was also filled with a dude who has Alexis's last name tattooed on his bottom.

Puppy vision

As you definitely noticed one (and only one) of the dogs on our shower curtain is wearing glasses. At first we were confused, but this weekend we learned that he's clearly been like this since he was just a baby puppy.

Summer of Zooey

It's finally almost here--Summer. More specifically, the summer of Zooey. I was lucky enough last week to accompany my dear friend Julia to the She & Him concert. We knew things were off to a good start when we saw a sandwich explosion on the way to the show.

Then we got there and realized that we could sit front row, which was awesome. But even more awesome, was when the glorious Zoe came on stage and really is THAT cute, and we are now even more obsessed.

The show was fantastic and to celebrate Julia and I went to The Smith where we were even sent free food from the kitchen. (We suspect it had something to do with the looks of longing we directed towards other tables' meals). To complete the wonderful evening on our walk home we saw the prehistoric community's bat-signal equivalent.
In closing, a lot was learned that night. And have officially deemed the coming months, the months of Zooey. We will be sure to update you of all things Zooey we do.

B B B B B B B B B

52 w 14 st apt 4A(wesome) is a little low on the cash flow these days so when our dear friend B invited us out to drinks it was a pretty tempting offer. It became even more tempting when she told us where these drinks would be going down:

So we arrive at Pieces, the best gay karaoke bar in all of New York, ready to have one drink and then head home for a quiet evening of cuddling on the Love Sac. However, once B bought us our first round we learned that they really make thy cup overfloweth since apparently alcohol + karaoke really go hand in hand. B not only treated us (thanks), but she also treated herself to a healthy sampling of what Pieces had to offer--luckily her inebriated state inspired awesomeness in everyone around her.

Our first epic find of the night was a young lad named Keith. We liked Keith for a few reasons, like he thought I was a lesbian (I imagine the oversized plaid shirt I was wearing didn't help) and pretended to hate theatre (which became a clear lie as soon as someone performed a song from Rent). But the reason we liked Keith the most was that he wears his backpack with pride--just like us!

Although this picture was taken a different night, it's clear that looking like a middle schooler is considered really sweet round these parts.

So while the night started out innocently enough as B kept buying us drinks and the bar got rowdier Alexis and B realized they too had something to contribute to the lovely patrons. They took the stage with a vengeance and performed a truly inspiring version of "Like a Prayer"

Other highlights of the night where B decide to try and jump/pump/hump/high five everyone and everything she encountered. Some of these attempts were more successful than others... Below, a video for your viewing pleasure:

All in all, it was a lot of fun for a Tuesday night, and I think we all left a piece of our heart in Pieces.

Thank you foreign roommate.

So as most of you know, jenn's first language is not english...and because of this she says some words real weird...one of them being, "sword"....she actually pronounces the W. almost everyday i correct her(yes the word "sword" comes up in our conversations daily

anyways...tonight i had passover seder...and ya know, they go around and make everyone read from the little book thing..and i read my part and thought everything went fine...then when it was done my whole table was like uhhhh...sWord? i pronounced the "w"!!!!!....TWICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i cant believe it...im so embarrassed...nobody knows how to pronounce that word better than me...and in front of like 40 people...i said it w/ a big fat WWWWWWWW. the worst part is i had NO idea.

thank you jenn. i owe you one.

Where oh where is my sweet baby leroy?

I love coming home. I really do. I eat yummy food and i play on boats and I get to go to the aventura mall (yes, alli and i realized it is physically impossible for us to take a trip home without paying that mall a visit)

i HATE flying with leroy. ive done it about a million times and each time i hate it more and more. so this time when i came home, i left the little man in nyc with his aunt jenny.

BIG MISTAKE.

i miss that little munchkin way too much. i need him. why isnt he laying in bed with me right now? i know hes having a fantastic spring weekend in the city w/ jenn, but i cannot live without him. end of story.

Hot Chip

Saturday night Kim and I went to see Hot Chip. We missed most of the show because apparently the whole world doesn't run on our schedules but it was still super fun. Sure there were a lot of hipsters, but I still felt safe and at home thanks to the giant batik moon backdrop they played in front of.

The batik isn't quite clear on my camera phone--but it was there and it was heady. Almost as heady and glorious as this amazing moment the next morning:

Caaaa Yute!

Nerdo turns 45

Our resident handy man Nerdo celebrated his day of birth this past Sunday. Sadly, lex couldn't spend the whole day with him but miraculously w]shee found candles on our menu to blow out in celebration. (apparently nerdo shares his day to shine with the awesome blossom)

Happy Birthday Nerdo

a shower fit for princessi

yesterday was serious spring cleaning day in 52w14 (ya, jenn cleaned the shower with a toothbrush) and we gave the bathroom a big fat makeover. We got this kickass shower curtain with puppies on it which further proves that we're creepy old cat ladies (in a dog kinda way). and the best part is that it has 3 different puppies on it..none of which are wearing people clothes...except the one that insisted on wearing his reading glasses...its kinda like when you were a little kid and your mom made u go somewhere u didn't wanna go and u said you'd only go if u can wear your superman costume from 3 halloweens ago.

**modeling the shower curtain is tomi...the most funniest inappropriate kid ever.

Mother and Child Reunion

This past weekend I was lucky enough to visit San Francisco the very same weekend that my dear daughter Melissa WaQuan Louie returned from her travels in Asia. It was a reunion filled with laughter and tears and huge tiny mistakes.

*for clarity: (Melissa = Mei = Missy) + "Yea, I'll have a drink..." = Miffy

Mei was kind enough to bring back some presents for some of the people she loves-including her other mom (mom 2) Min. Interestingly enough, it appeared that Mei got Min a toy (?) that looks like Missy. We remain helpful Min will put it where it belongs--to good use.

Aside from the mother and daughter reunion, there were even more fun people and things to play with on my trip. I got to see lots of old friends and my stomach hurt for the first few days just from laughing so hard.

Marri (seen below) and Nicole (not pictured) were kind enough to house me a few nights and enlightened me to all things hyphie--including elementary school P.E. classes.

Here are my friends, Buttney (left) and Veggie Burger (middle)...cut off is Raven, an individual who is fighting the good fight to bring acclaim to Joey--the Friend's spin off. Buttney is one of many friends I have incorporating some sort of rear end reference. Veggie Burger, however, is the only friend I have named Veggie Burger...he is also one of my (and Melissa's) favorite people to prank call.

It was really great to see everyone AND while hanging out at the Hotel Mission I even had a celebrity sighting! That dude in the middle is Doc (comfortably sandwiched between Lindsay and Shep), our most loyal reader in Vietnam.

Amongst the numerous adventures undertaken in my few days by the bay one might have reigned supreme--the night I spent on rollerblades.

By the end of my performance I could safely say Fruit Booting had replaced Rice-a-Roni as the official San Francisco Treat.
